Rhodium Arabians, the largest Straight Egyptian stud in New Zealand
is located at Isola Equestrian Centre, immediately south of
Auckland. Owners Fanus and Ria Crous are dedicated to the breeding
of world-class Straight Egyptian Arabian horses and the preservation
of the “old SE bloodlines”. Arabian horse lineages and strains are
carefully researched prior to breeding or making any acquisitions,
with the intention to adopt a very scientific and dynamic approach
throughout. Rhodium Arabian Stud is a life member of the Pyramid
Society and also of the World Arabian Horse Organisation (WAHO).

Fanus is a retired geo-scientist but is still involved with numerous
other business ventures on a global scale. In order to keep abreast
of the latest developments in the Arabian breeding fraternity, Fanus
and Ria regularly attend Arabian horse shows and stud visits abroad
and take immense pleasure in meeting up with old friends and
co-breeders from all over the world. Both their children, Sharné and
Arno are devoted horse enthusiasts and ardent riders, a passion
which they get very little time for nowadays, given their respective
professional careers.
Rhodium Arabians’ five principal and resident stallions at present
are RAJAH KA (Makhnificent KA x Rahimah KA by RA Jahim),
ANSATA NILE PHARAOH (Ansata Iemhotep x Ansata Misty Nile by
Ansata Hejazi), THE SOURCE CC (Salaa El Dine x Mouna IASB by
Malik), SIMEON SARAAF (Anaza Bay Shahh x Simeon Setavi by
Simeon Sadik) and SIMEON SHATUL (Asfour x Wed Albadeia by
Farid Albadeia).

Within the existing core-group of broodmares and fillies, the stud
relies heavily on sire bloodlines of Makhsous (Sultann
x Nabda), El Halimaar (Ansata Ibn Halima x RDM Maar
Hala), Imperial Madaar (Imperial Madheen x Ansata Nile
Mist), Classic Shadwan (Alidaar x Shagia Bint Shadwan),
Malik (Hadban Enzahi x Malikah), Salaa El Dine
(Ansata Halim Shah x Hanan),
as well as the various world-renowned Ansata bloodlines.

Each year Rhodium competes in selected Arabian shows, however, the
main emphasis will still, for the foreseeable future, be focussed on
the fine-tuning and optimizing of the breeding program. Quality
horses of all ages are always for sale and enquiries by email are
invited.
